Molykote M 55 1kg

Molykote M-55 Plus is a black dispersion of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) solid lubricants in mineral oil. It is added as an additive to mineral-based lubricating and gear oils; it increases load-carrying capacity, reduces friction, wear and running noise, improves the running-in process and helps prevent pitting on gears.

• Applications: Gearboxes and lubrication systems operating with mineral oils (drip-feed lubricators, centralised lubrication systems, etc.). Added to the oil at 5% by volume, or 10% under very heavy loads; must not be added to water-based metalworking emulsions.
• Features: Emergency running properties, increased load-carrying capacity; operating temperature depends on the oil used.
• Typical properties: Density 0.91 g/ml at 20 °C, four-ball weld load 3,000 N.
